About San Giorgio

San Giorgio Coffee was founded in 1981 by Joseph DeCaria.  A hard working man from Calabria, Italy, he was a successful business man in the whole sale food distribution.  Always looking for new ventures, he launched a coffee business in one of the more competitive markets in the U.S.A. 

He first began importing roasted coffee from Italy, but he soon discovered that the coffee had come from such great distances  and was stored so long before he recieved it, it was stale by the time it reached his customers.  He immediately went to work at a roasting company for no pay under the agreement he would be allowed to work on his own blend after hours.

Extensive time and effort were invested until he developed his award winning espresso known today as San Giorgio "Silver Beans".  He soon began selling his coffee to the finest restaurants throughout Florida. 

There was one more piece left in the puzzle.  He realized by letting other people roast his coffee he noticed that he neither had control of quality regarding the roast or the beans going into his blend.  So in 1993 he began building a state of the art roasting facility capable of blending, roasting, grinding, and packaging all of his own coffee.  Along with our award winning espresso, we also offer award winning American, flavored, and international coffees.  Today with over 3 million dollars invested in his venture, we our proud to serve the freshest, finest gourmet coffee in the market.
